Within CLEMSONLiVE I served as the Spring 2011 New Members Chair organizing events for the new members to learn tools that will allow them work best within the organization. I also served as the 2011-2012 Competitions Director working to provide on campus activities with safe (alcohol free) environments for students to participate in for free. Working with a committee in planning an event taught me time management, organization, and working with people.
One semester I was given $25,000 to execute a late night event on campus. I worked with several vendors and departments on campus to turn our student center into a full on fun zone. There was more food than anyone could possibly eat with games and entertainment throughout the night. At the end of the day we had well over a thousand students in attendance.
I also planned small scale events such as our Cake Boss Competition. My favorite way to use CLEMSONLiVE events is as a tool for showcasing the talent we have on campus. Twenty cakes were baked and decorated for the students of Clemson to judge. What was most rewarding was to hear that the winner of the competition has now started a cake decorating business!
